How It Works
Personalized Sessions
We do personal lessons in real time, and we will determine a weekly day and time that works for us. We connect through Zoom, placing our devices strategically and moving them as needed. Oh, and the little guy on the drum is Saylor, the jazz cat.
Balanced Content
As the weeks unfold, we will balance our focus among three areas:
- Reading helps us grasp musical patterns, enhance creative thought, and communicate with other musicians.
- Technique trains us to play cleanly, accurately, and healthfully, while expanding our creative expression.
- Drumset allows us to channel our creative personalities, as well as collaborate with other musicians if we so choose.
Follow-up Material
After a lesson ends, I will email you any new lessons that we worked on so that you can practice them during the week. I write the lessons in "finale," and you can play them back while reading them. You'll just need to tap or click the button below and download Finale Notepad for free. If you don't have a drumset yet, you can get a practice pad to start.
